The role :
Permanent contract to be filled as soon as possible. Based in Paris 17th.
Reporting to the Regional Marketing Director Europe, the Retailer Marketing Manager is responsible for designing and optimizing retailer marketing strategies at a European level, in line with Clarins’ brand objectives and commercial ambitions.
In this strategic and operational role, you will collaborate closely with subsidiaries, brand teams, the European Commercial Department, and our key retail partners to accelerate sell-out and ensure brand excellence in execution.
What you’ll do :
The Europe Retailers Marketing Manager has the following roles and responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy retailer marketing strategies across Europe:
- Define objectives, strategy, and trade action plans aligned European ambitions (subsidiary priorities, marketing plan, commercial policy, brand guidelines).
- Share the strategy upstream and downstream with internal (global and local markets) and external stakeholders (retailers) to ensure alignment around a common plan.
- Recommend differentiated plans by retailer (AVP, retailer media, etc.), incorporating retailer-specific insights and input from the Commercial Department, while respecting Clarins’ priorities.
- Ensure brand expression is consistent with its DNA.
2. Development, Management and monitoring of trade activations:
- Define and lead 360° activation plans as the project lead for each campaign .
- Share 360° activation plans with internal teams (global and local markets) to enhance the overall strategy.
- Convince retailers during dedicated meetings.
- Oversee implementation of activations using retailer tools.
- Coordinate and ensure operational excellence: maximum visibility, high-quality execution of assets and materials, sales forecasts, and promotional levers, all within deadlines.
- Guarantee flawless execution.
- Propose strategic recommendations for the use of promotional levers.
- Optimize digital and CRM visibility
- Ensure efficient budget management between local and regional expenditures.
3. Category performance and drive continuous improvement:
- Manage and anticipate specific assortments for European retailers (sets, minis, limited editions).
- Ensure consistency in launch assortments across European retailers (new products, refills, formats) and their merchandising execution.
- Monitor performance analysis of activations and segments provided by the European Commercial Department.
- Coordinate post-operation reviews with subsidiaries and provide optimization recommendations.
- Track competitor trade activations and draw insights to strengthen Clarins’ positioning, incorporating feedback from various countries.
- Understand retailer category strategies, analyze and challenge requests, and provide recommendations to the commercial team.
- Improve tools and dashboards for more efficient performance tracking.
